Young Adults

My specialty is working with the college-aged population and the issues they tend to struggle with most, as I served as the Associate Director at Long Island University’s Student Counseling Center for over a decade.

Although my focus has always been on providing individual therapy and support for my clients, I have also taught substance abuse classes and led many programs pertaining to mental health.  In addition, I provided training and professional supervision for numerous mental health counseling interns through the clinical internship program I co-managed at Long Island University.

Some issues I address when working with Young Adults are:

  • Self-Esteem

  • Anxiety

  • Depression

  • Emotional Regulation

  • Gender Identity/Sexuality

  • Coping with Parental Divorce

  • Relationship Challenges

  • Food and Body Image Concerns

  • Perfectionism

  • Financial Difficulties

  • Substance Abuse

  • Sexual Assault

  • Trauma

  • Self-Injury

  • Suicidal Ideation

  • Grief/Loss

Therapy is a process that focuses on understanding yourself and your life from new perspectives, and I am here to help you through that journey.  Over the course of time, we realize that a lot has happened to us, including both the expected and unexpected challenges of life.  We begin to reflect and try to think about what is really important, and how to live our lives better.  I will guide you as you explore ways you can incorporate important changes into your life.

Some issues I address when working with Adults are:

  • Life Stressors and Challenges

  • Adjustment and Life Transitions

  • Career Transition/Change and Exploration

  • Work/Life Balance

  • Infidelity

  • Divorce

  • Parenting

  • Family and Relation Conflict

  • Illness/Health Management

  • Depression

  • Financial Difficulties

  • Substance Use/Abuse

  • Sexual/Emotional/Physical Abuse

  • Managing Grief/Loss

Supervision/Support for Therapists

“What we focus on outside is a reflection of what we feel inside.”

I provide professional supervision for Mental Health Counselors working towards their New York State licensure.  I also offer counseling for therapists who want to devote time and space for continued personal and professional growth.

Fees and Insurance

All counseling sessions at CWC are 45 minutes in duration and the fee is $175 per weekly session.

Although I do not participate in any insurance panels, I can provide you with a monthly invoice that you may submit for reimbursement if your insurance plan allows for “out-of-network” benefits.  Please contact your insurance

provider for details, as many of my clients find that they are entitled to partial reimbursement.

I’m also willing to work on a sliding scale for those who qualify.
